Path of Exile Item Upgrading
The best way to improve your gear in Path of Exile is through upgrading your items. This allows you to improve it without having to rely on expensive drops or trades. This article will show you how to upp your items effectively.
Upgrades to equipment give a bonus on the item's stats. This bonus scales with the upgrade component level and rarity.
Components
Upgrade components make your armour and weapons better. They can be found by destroying enemies, buying them from karma vendors or finding them in item-spheres. They can also be salvaged from equipment that contains them, or through an advanced salvage kit such as the Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. Upgrade components are not destroyed when you remove them from an item.
The main purpose of upgrade components is to enable an item to be upgraded, but they also serve other purposes. They can be stacked to increase the quality of an upgradeable item or they can be used to increase the experience gained when upgrading an existing weapon or piece of equipment. They can also be made to give additional bonuses. For instance, a created glyph can increase the chance of upgrading its target, and an upgrade boost will enhance the defense or attack attribute of a weapon or armor.
You can bind an upgrade template to an item by selecting it from the edition GUI. This will show the list of upgrade components that the item can be upgraded to. Alternatively, you can use the workbench to select an upgrade template. In either scenario, an item will be upgraded after enough upgrade components have been collected.
Each component has a unique experience multiplier. This determines the amount of experience an item can gain when upgraded using the component. For instance, organic components offer a higher experience multiplier than mechanical ones. It is therefore recommended to upgrade using organic components until you have reached the multiplier of experience for the next rank of weapon or gear, and then move to mechanical upgrades.
In addition to the multiplier for experience, each item also has the maximum number of upgrades that it can receive. The number of upgrades is determined by the upgradeable rank and the upgrade type of the upgradeable item. For example, the highest possible weapon upgrade is a weapon of tier 10. However, the most popular upgrade for weapons is a tier 6 weapon and a tier 5 armor upgrade.
Sets
A set is a set of items which all have the same bonus. Each item in the set can be upgraded at least one time, and each upgrade boosts the guaranteed bonuses. The first time you upgrade an item, its primary stat will be +1. After subsequent upgrades the primary stats will be boosted a bit more (for example, +1 to 12+/13+/14+), and each time you upgrade the item with an additional stats is increased randomly.
Upgrades can also boost the damage base of a weapon. This could be crucial for certain types of weapons. However, weapons cannot be upgraded to have a higher defense level than their base. It is a good method to increase the value of certain sets and unique items, however it's important to note that they're not necessarily superior to a high-level runeword in any build.

If you're upgrading an item that comes with a bonus it can be rerolled once, and its guarantee will reset to zero. Rerolling is the same amount of power dice as bringing an item, however the new item will have additional bonuses. The NPC [Armor] Boboko can upgrade your armor in Central Flarine. To upgrade an item you will need the appropriate amount Minerals and Erons and a power dice of each kind. These can be bought with Gold at the crafting table or in the Ultra Collection. NPCs will also provide special rewards for each stage of the upgrade process. This reward is rerollable once and the reroll will be made using the same materials as the first item.
Rerolling
If players have enough to reroll tokens, they are able to play rerolling any item they have acquired during the game. When click through the up coming website page upgraded item is to be rerolled, it will be exchanged for an equivalent level 1 version of the same item from a different set. Reroll tokens can be purchased in the store for a small sum of in-game currency. They cannot be refunded. The new upgraded item will still have the extra bonuses of the original one however, its stats will differ also.
In addition to rerolling items players can also change the identification of any equipment by interacting with an upgrader NPC. This will change its identification as a weapon to armor, or reverse it. The base stats and requirements will remain the same. The change will last for a long time and affect all characters that own the gear.
Players can also increase the level of an item equipped device by obtaining upgrade item s and conversing with the item's upgrader NPC. The cost of upgrading will depend on the upgrade track, item type and number of crests. Each step will give 5percent more damage to weapons.
An upgrade will make it more powerful, but it will reduce its effectiveness. It is therefore important to strike a balance between the two. Some items aren't worth upgrading, whereas others require upgrades to reach their full potential. For example an individual player may want to upgrade a piece breakpoint armor that has an interesting modifier ( percent chance of blocking or FHR) to explore the possibilities of what it can be.
Rerolling is a standard practice in Genshin Impact and other gacha-based games. People do it in order to get an item or character they cannot otherwise get. These items can be costly and time-consuming to acquire, and the RNG doesn't always play nice. The only choices left is to shell out real money or grind a lot. Rerolling is a very popular option in Genshin Impact.
Leveling
When upgrading an item you can pick to increase the level of the weapon or armor. This feature is not available in the current version of the game. I believe this feature was created to add some value to expensive and rare items. However, as most equipment is replaced quickly, and it can only be upgraded by one level, you will usually replace it before it gets too old. It's not worth upgrading items with gem sockets since the power of the stone will outweigh any increment in ilvl.
When you click on the upgrade option on an item, you'll get a small screen with the item's upgrade template and the crest and Valorstone costs to increase the item level. The costs will vary between the armor and weapons and the latter typically costing more than the latter. The upgrade template lists the stats that will be added to an upgraded item, along with its current base ilvl.
The Crest and Valorstone costs are calculated according to the item's current ilvl and the upgrade template. The ilvl is also reduced by the upgrade templates lvl reduction percentage. For instance the weapon that has an upgrade decrease of 8% will decrease its value by 8-8 percent.
In addition to the base ilvl increase it will also get upgrades in other stats, such as critical strike damage, damage from PvE and block, parry and dodge rating. Those increases are also based on the upgrade template.
In the upgrade template, you can see the amount of damage or defense that the item will be able to sustain after being leveled up. This is shown below the cost and upgrade percentages. Aside from practice equipment, all other weapons and armor gain the same stats once leveled up. The value of these stats will be determined by the market, with a rolled perfect version of a weapon or piece of armor can command significantly more in trade value than unupp'd versions. The same is true for other pieces of armor, such as circlets and Tiaras.
